What we collect
When you use the contact form. Your name, email address, the type of project you're interested in, your message, and your company name if you choose to give it. Everything except the company name is required, because we can't reply without it.
We use this to answer you and, if it leads somewhere, to discuss working together. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch, and — where you're asking about engaging us — taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Your message is emailed to us and a copy is kept on the website's own server.
When you visit any page. With your permission, Google Analytics collects information about how the site is used: pages viewed, roughly how long for, approximate location based on your IP address, and the kind of device and browser you're on. It doesn't tell us who you are.
Analytics only runs if you accept it. Our lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time — see Cookies below.
Automatically, as with any website. Our server keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. These are kept for around two weeks and aren't used to identify anyone.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser.
Essential cookies keep the site working — they hold your session, protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and remember your cookie choice. These can't be switched off, because the site can't function without them.
Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics and only if you accept them. They help us understand which pages people find useful.
You choose when you first arrive, and you can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie preferences link in the footer. If you withdraw consent, the analytics cookies already in your browser are deleted.
The preferences panel lists every cookie by name, with what it does and how long it lasts.
Who else sees it
Google processes the analytics data on our behalf, under their own terms, and may transfer it outside the UK under approved safeguards.
Our hosting provider stores the site and its data. The site runs on a server operated by DigitalOcean in London, United Kingdom.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for 24 months from our last contact with you. If you become a client, your details form part of the project record, which we keep for six years after the work ends.
Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which Google deletes it.
Server access logs are kept for around two weeks.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
give you a copy of the information we hold about you
correct anything that's wrong
delete it
restrict or object to how we use it
send it to you, or someone else, in a portable format
Where we rely on your consent — analytics — you can withdraw it at any time, and that doesn't affect anything done beforehand.
Email hello@agencyfig.com and we'll respond within one month.
If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or call 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
